FAQ’s
Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends and holidays, to guarantee your spot and avoid long wait times. Walk-ins are welcome but subject to availability.
When booking, you are selecting a 30-minute time slot. This is the time you are expected to be in the river, so please arrive 15–20 minutes early. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, we may not be able to accommodate you right away, and you may need to reschedule your float.
With the purchase of a ticket, you may float as many times as you’d like. However, the final re-entry is at 4:00 PM, so you must be back in the water by then for an additional float. Typical Float times are 2-4 hours so please plan accordingly.
Please plan to stay on the property between trips down the river. Re-entry is not permitted if you leave. You’re welcome to pack a lunch and enjoy one of our on-site picnic tables during your break.
All guests entering the river must be at least three years of age. Each child is required to have a child’s tubing pass. A separate ticket must be purchased for each child.
When water levels are high (typically above 700) there may be additional age restrictions in place. Contact us for more information.
If tickets were purchased prior to the implementation of age restrictions, you may request to change your float day/time or receive a refund for your child or the entire group.
We recommend bringing:
- Water shoes or secure sandals (no flip-flops)
- Sunscreen and sunglasses with a strap
- A reusable water bottle (stay hydrated!)
- Waterproof phone case or dry bag
- Snacks in a secure container (no glass)
- A change of clothes and towel for after your float
Missing something from the list? No worries – all essential items can be found in our gift shop and can be purchased prior to the float.
Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows are non-refundable.
Safety is our top priority. If severe weather (lightning, high winds, or heavy rain) prevents us from operating, we will offer to reschedule your trip or provide a full refund. Mild rain or overcast skies typically do not result in cancellations.
We do not have lockers on-site. All personal belongings should be left in your vehicle. We have multiple options available for purchase to keep your keys dry while floating.
Yes—every tuber is required to have a life jacket (PFD) with them on the river, regardless of age. This is a TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency) regulation and applies to both adults and children.
Here’s what you need to know:
- PFDs are provided free of charge to all Wild Bear guests. We have sizes available for small children, youth, and adults.
- You’re welcome to bring your own, but it must be U.S. Coast Guard-certified to meet state safety requirements.
- Children age 12 and under are legally required to wear their PFD at all times while on the river.
- Ages 13 and up must have a PFD with them on their float, but are not required to wear it.
- That said, Wild Bear strongly recommends all guests wear their PFD while on the water—especially if you are not a confident swimmer.
Please note: There are areas of the river deeper than adult standing height, so wearing your life jacket securely is important for your safety and peace of mind.
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome! Please ensure your pup is comfortable in the water and wears a doggy life vest. Don’t forget to bring a leash and clean up after your pet. Dogs over 40 lbs. will require the purchase of an additional tube.
